About Zingo
Zingo Transportation, Inc. was founded in October 2005 by Atlanta entrepreneurs Jim Valentine, Charles Barfield, and PX Head. They founded Zingo to give people a viable option to the number one reason people make the bad decision to drink and drive--leaving their car behind.
Shortly thereafter, the founders of Zingo secured the exclusive importation rights to the amazing Di Blasi folding motorbike that makes Zingo's unique service possible. Since then, they have quickly moved to spread the Zingo concept nationwide through the Zingo License Program.
Zingo Charlotte
ZINGO Charlotte was started on April 31st, 2008 by Jonathan Swope and Josh Trammell, both born and raised in Charlotte, in order to provide a realistic option in which to get you and your vehicle home after a night out drinking. We noticed one of the major problems here in the Charlotte and surrounding area dealing with DUIs was that many people were not comfortable leaving their vehicle out overnight and taking a cab/taxi home. This was due to numerous reasons such as needing their vehicle immediatley when they woke up and not wanting to leave their vehicle in an exposed parking lot over night. ZINGO is a solution to the problem and we look forward to catering to Charlotte and the surrounding Lake Norman and Lake Wylie area for many years to come!
Zingo Charlotte dispatcher Bill Wilson (left), a 25-year resident of Charlotte’s Midtown district, has seen the Uptown area and its accompanying nightlife grow by leaps and bounds. On a nightly basis for the past two years, the Harley-Davidson enthusiast from Raleigh has experienced it firsthand. (The franchise has been a staple of the nightlife scene in the Queen City — helping restaurant and bar patrons get home safely along with their vehicles since 2008.) This transportation specialist considers himself a two-wheel aficionado who enjoys riding and working on motorcycles, scooters and mopeds, and says that was the appeal that led him to his current position. The folding motorized scooter allows ZINGO to arrive at the customers location, then stow the motorized scooter in the customers trunk, and once the customer is home safe with their car the ZINGO driver heads to the next customer. For long distances, ZINGO uses a chase car to pick up the driver at your final destination. There is no limit on distance.
